Lake Powell Access Information

Update January 2007:

The public launch ramp is closed – there is no access for launching of boats at this time.

  • Use of PWC is prohibited on Lake Powell from the Glen Canyon NRA boundary north of Hite to mile marker 108 just north of Knowles Canyon.
 
  • All water-based marina facilities have been relocated to Halls Crossing and Bullfrog Marinas
  • Land-based facilities are open seasonally– including family housekeeping units, gas station, dry storage, ranger station, and store.  Primitive camping area at Hite is open.
  • Gasoline and Diesel available at the Hite Village Store 24 Hour-a-day Pay at the Pump.
 
  • A river access road, located off SR 95 between mileposts 41 and 42, has been established on the west side of the river (the original Hite Marina site) for river runner takeouts.   Boat launching is possible from this location at your own risk when the lake level reaches 3611'.   This is a primitive road and requires 4-wheel drive to access the river.
